Exploring the Possibility of Parenting
When you’re facing an unexpected pregnancy, the idea of parenting might feel exciting, intimidating, or a combination of both. You might be looking ahead and wondering how everything would work: school, your career, finances, relationships, or even the emotional side of becoming a parent.
Whatever questions are surfacing for you, Family Life Services offers a private space to sort through them.
Our team listens first. We want to understand your circumstances, what matters to you, and what support you might need as you consider parenting.
Questions Worth Considering
If you’re trying to figure out whether parenting is the right path, it may help to reflect on questions like:
- What would I need to feel prepared?
- What support system do I have or hope to build?
- How might school, work, or other commitments fit into this decision?
- What role would the baby’s father or partner play?
- What parts of parenting feel exciting? What parts feel stressful?
Asking these questions doesn’t mean you “should” choose parenting; it simply helps bring clarity. Our advocates can discuss each of these areas in a calm and respectful manner.
